In some good news though the Reds announced that tomorrow Rick White will be designated for assignment. What isnt known is who will take his spot on the 40 man roster. Marty and Steve brought up some guy named Salmon who was pitching well in AAA. I expect Shackleford to get the call unless we trade for someone in the next 12 hrs or so.

Awesome to see that waste of roster space getting tossed. We have been waiting for this to happen forever now.

It's too bad Standridge was called up to replace him, because I'm not sure he'll be much better.

CRF, you have never liked Sandridge have you? I believe he will do a good job. His numbers were solid in Louisville and I would rather see him than almost any other option we have right now outside of making a trade.

I think this team needs to take an even bigger look at their bullpen when Belisle returns. I would seriously think about getting rid of both Mercker and Burns ASAP. Belisle to take Burns' spot then a trade for a middle reliever to take Merck's spot.

There's nothing about him to make me believe he'll be good consistently. He has a pretty good fastball and that's about it. He might be better than White, but I just don't see him as a consistent option.

Do you see anyone else as a better fit for consistency? Maybe Love Shack?

What about Brad Salmon? 2.21 ERA in 20 IP. 3 to 1 K to BB, Hits allowed 24 Ks.

Use White's vacated 40 man roster spot.
