Brandon Claussen Placed On DL With Sore Shoulder

CINCINNATI (Ticker) - The road to the postseason just got a little tougher for the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds on Saturday placed struggling lefthander Brandon Claussen on the 15-day disabled list with rotator cuff tendinitis in his left shoulder.

In Friday's outing against the Chicago White Sox, Claussen was tagged for nine runs and eight hits in two-plus innings of a 12-4 loss. He is 3-8 with a 6.19 ERA in 14 starts this season and is winless since May 19, a span of five outings.

A corresponding roster move will be announced following Saturday's game with the White Sox.

I think it had more to do with the 9 runs he gave up the other night instead of his shoulder.

Ok I have found out that it is Mike Burns being given another shot. So we get rid of White and we bring in someone equally as bad. Nice!

Is Mays taking Claussen's spot in the rotation?
