Who possesed David Ross and made him a good player?

This guy was garbage everywhere he went, including San Diego and suddenly he's hitting a home run every 8.333 at bats? and batting .347 with a 1.214 OPS?

Hence all the LaRue trade chatter. This guy has done his thing. But to be completely honest, I still want to see him play more of a #1 catcher type role. In other words, I would like to see him get even more playing time to see if he is for real.

Maybe he's just getting a chance to play more often? He had basically one season's worth of AB in the majors coming into this year, which is hardly a large enough sample size. He's still young enough that he has possibly improved. He has always hit some HR and I think GABP is helping him out too. His career OPS continues to go up. He certainly might return to Earth some soon, but I think he can continue to be a solid contributor.

David Ross might return to Earth soon. It's probably his first good sample size. Then again, Great American Ballpark is a bandbox.

I'm not expecting him to maintain his 1.216 OPS he currently has, but I certainly see him finishing the year around .900.

His career OPS is now up to .763, which isn't bad at all for a catcher. A lot of that has to do with this year, but again, he hasn't played much before this year. He did have 18 HR in a little over 400 AB before this season, which is rather good.(That covered 168 games...so basically in just over one season he had 18 HR...about 17 HR if you drop it down to 162 games). The power has always been there. He's getting hits of other kinds now too.
