Germano back to AAA, Joe Mays called up

Narron says Mays will be working out of the bullpen right now. I've read some speculation that Rick White could be dumped when Belisle comes off the DL. I sure hope so.

The reason why Rick White cannot be cut yet is due to his contract. Apparently there is something in his contract that prevents the Reds from trading him before June 15th. And due to the fact that he signed a big league contract during the offseason, he cannot be cut before June 15th. So, June 15th is a big day around here.

Germano is working out for us, he got out of a big jam in Chicago (bases loaded, 0 outs). I guess they just want to see what Mays can do. As for Chick, I haven't heard to much of him.

i think they just still see germano as a starter. i don't know anything about his contract, but rick white has to be on the way out when belisle comes back, if mays looks decent at all.

i have to think that claussen is at risk of losing his spot in the rotation too.

Yep. I think Germano coming up was just to give him a taste of the MLB life, hitting, etc. And having him in the bullpen didn't put as much stress on him as facing a start would. Hopefully we'll see him back up here getting some starts if we see an injury to anyone.

Yeah, I do hope White is gone when Belisle gets back.

And I imagine Mays will start in the bullpen but if Claussen has another bad start or two, Mays could well enter the rotation and send Brandon to the bullpen.
