    Reds-Cubs 5/30

The game is being delayed in the 4th due to rain. The Reds are up 1-0.

its now 7-3 cubs in the 6th. I was due to be at the game, but i finally said no, since it would have been my 4th straight (and im dead exhausted) and figured i would be there tomorrow anyways.

that was some heavy duty rain.

theres a reason why MOST managers will yank starters after long rain delays... Tonight was a perfect example as to why.

for both sides. maddux usually makes those decisions though, and since he had only thrown 38 pitches, felt like it was worth it. Claussen was much worse after the rain delay.

if greg says he can handle it, you let him go. so i dont really fault dusty for that, especially with the way he looked in the 5th inning itself (immediately following the delay)

Thats a different case all together. Greg Maddux has been pitching in the majors since Brandon was like 7 yrs old he's earned that ability to make the call. I dont think you leave Claussen out there with his inconsistantcy and that much time passing.

Well, it was a good run in April. Sadly Jerry Narron's incompetence will cost this team. There's absolutely no reason for Quinton McCracken and Rick White to be on this team still. Mercker's getting to that point as well. He just continues to run these useless bums out there and I have a feeling he wants Krivsky to send Encarnacion down to AAA. He's a moron who will hopefully be gone at the end of the season.

Narron leaves Claussen in even though his control is often an area of concern to begin with. Didn't he think that could be the case after sitting around for an hour or so?

Then he brings in Rick White when we still have a chance(yet again!) and then uses Mercker who probably needed rehab before being recalled from the minors.

    Simply poor managing.

After another hot start, its great to see my Reds return to there old form. Bad managing, great offenses sputtering and terrible pitching.

Bring's back memories of...almost every year I have been a Reds fan.
