    Reds Reds survivor- Round 1

The rules are simple. You cut the player off the roster that you think does not deserve to be called out as the best. Give us the reason why you cut this player as well. The player with the most cuts, gets cut. Then we move on until we have our winner. BTW, our winner last year was Aaron Harang. Can he get it again?

    So lets start it off.

    Aaron Harang
    Chris Denorfia
    Matt Belisle
    Chris Hammond
    Brandon Phillips
    Austin Kearns
    Javier Valentin
    Rick White
    Bronson Arroyo
    Dave Williams
    Felipe Lopez
    Todd Coffey
    Brandon Claussen
    Ryan Freel
    Adam Dunn
    Edwin Encarnacion
    Rich Aurilia
    Quintin McCracken
    Ray Olmedo
    Elizardo Ramirez
    Jason LaRue
    David Weathers
    David Ross
    Kent Mercker
    Scott Hatteberg
    Ken Griffey Jr.
    Cody Ross
    Eric Milton
    Brian Shackelford

Make your pick and explain why!

Scott Hatteberg. Is he even a decent fielder? No. Get his ass out of there.

I conquer with Hatteberg. Aurilla is just a better player these days.

I don't like injury prone players either. Go with Junior Griffey.

    WOW, some surprising votes already.

I am going with McCracken. I just don't see why Denorfia could not take his place once Junior comes back.

Why would anyone want Pittsburgh's leftovers?

    McCracken.

Not Griffey because what he brings when he's in there (I know...not often)

Not Hatteberg because he has walked a lot this year and serves some use off the bench and part-time starter right now

Dave Williams has a good case for being gone, but since he did have league average numbers coming into this year, I will give him a brief respite(although he could well be gone next for me, because he looks terrible so far this year)

Not Hammond, because he has recovered a bit since his rough start and I think there is at least a SLIGHT chance he could serve some use in the bullpen

So, McCracken it is. Denorfia is a better option and McCracken just doesn't look good.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

people voting against a guy with a +.400 OBP know nothing about baseball. period. voting against griffey with guys like mccracken also seems ridiculous.

mccracken gets my vote as well. Terrible numbers, brings nothing that can't be replaced by many others.

Brian Shackelford because he's only pitched 1.2 innings...on the Reds...with their staff...c'mon now!
