Reds Game 10 Reds vs. Cards 4/14/2006

Time for the all important Cards series to begin. This is where we find out whether we have been lucky. The Cardinals come to play night in and night out. And they have their ace along for the ride. Chris Carpenter will be on the mound for the cards tonight. This Cy Young winner is a sure fire Reds killer.

Reds hitters have posted a dismal .197 BA against Carpenter with a tiny .232 OBP.

No need to worry though. The Reds have been swinging the bats very nicely this season and they have their ace on the hill as well. The bad news about that is the Cards have hit Harang pretty well in their careers. Most notably Albert Pujols. He has a .444 career BA and a .500 OBP against Harang. The entire team has a .290 BA and a .337 OBP.

Two powerful offenses faces eachother aces in this rivaled matchup.

    Here we go!

    Harang
    1-1, 8.49

EdE is batting cleanup! Hmmm interesting call by Narron. Maybe a confidence booster?

Freel starts out with a 6 pitch swinging K. He has had a good career against Carpenter too.

Dunn grounds out weakly to 3B. 3 up 3 down.

Hatteberg tries to make a catch and he botches it in foul territory. He tried an over the shoulder catch and sucked!

EdE gets a grounder from Juan E and he makes the play. Not the best throw in the world though.

Nice play by Wosuck, and he hurt Hatteberg in the process!

    Here comes the Harang crusher...

And Womack makes a really nice running play there1 That was very nice! He charged the slow grounder and made a glove flip to Hatteberg to save time. Impressive from Womack!
