    A Bucky Jacobson sighting?

    Huzzah?

White Sox signed first baseman-designated hitter Bucky Jacobsen to a minor league contract.
Before having his 2005 ruined by knee surgery, Jacobsen was a force against lefties for the White Sox in 2004. The 30-year-old could still help a major league team, but he'll have to head back to Triple-A and bash away for a couple of months before he gets another chance.

Wow, I remember when people were raging over this guy after a good month in Seattle as the Mariners 1B of the future, or at least a temporary hold-up. Then Richie Sexson was given big money and Bucky wasted away in AAA. Good times. He's surely going to get a shot with Konerko on the team.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

I liked Bucky in Seattle. I'll like him even better now.

Bucky's Knee injury kept him out last season, we could have used his big bat at DH to keep Ibanez at LF. He is a great pickup for you guys.

He has to get healthy 1st. He would be the prime DH in your lineup if he gets a chance and yes it can catch on i believe.

Well, for him to be the primary DH, Thome would have to go down again. If that does happen (which I hope it doesn't), I hope Bucky can come up and do an adequate job of DHing.

For a MLC, I'll take my chances with a guy with his power.

It can't hurt to take a shot on the guy, but with an all-star caliber, highly paid 1B, and an all-star caliber, highly paid DH...Bucky's chance for time are small unless Thome gets hurt again.

If hes healthy and Thome goes down again... He might make them regret signing Thome. Hes got that much power.
