Too much is being placed on the White Sox choking the division away. If they do lose the division to the Tribe, they'll most likely still get the AL Wild Card berth anyways, as they are 4 games up on the Yankees right now with a dozen or so games to go. Who needs the division when the wild card accomplishes the same goal: making the postseason. The White Sox will be juuust fine.

They haven't even been able to beat the Royals recently...blowing a 4 game lead is nothing compared to that.

Too much is being placed? They had their playoff card punched in July and now it looks like they might not make it. That's is a choke if the Injuns win it.

2.5 games back and the Indians get four with the Royals.

Man, I am glad I started this thread. Indians are only 1.5 games back now!

They still have to win almost every game AND have a LOT of help from the White Sox. Unfortunately, the Sox threw away a great start by Brandon McCarthy last night, so there's some help.

Even if the Sox fell out of 1st place, they'd fall right into the Wild Card lead...especially since the Sox and Yanks still have head-to-head games.
