The White Sox have named Brent Morel as their season-opening starter at third base.
Mark Teahen will also get some looks at the hot corner in the right matchups. Morel, a strong defender, batted .322/.359/.480 with 10 home runs and 64 RBI between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte last season.
I am looking forward to seeing this kid play. I have read many rave reviews about his defense and if he is taking a job away from a veteran making a bit of money, he must be legit. Could be a ROY candidate. White Sox haven't had a ROY since 1985, Ozzie Guillen.
