    White Sox MacDougal DFA'd

White Sox designated RHP Mike MacDougal for assignment.
MacDougal struck out 22 in 14 innings this spring to work his way back into Chicago's plans, but it didn't last. He had given up six earned runs in 4 1/3 innings since the start of the season. He's still owed about $2.7 million, so he's practically assured of clearing waivers. Unless they can shed a portion of his contract in a trade, the White Sox may just release him and give him a fresh start elsewhere.
Some team will pick him up and the Marlins would be a good choice. Other teams that could use him are the Nationals, Angels and Astros.

    Re: MacDougal DFA'd

"Nationals signed RHP Mike MacDougal to a minor league contract.
A natural fit. MacDougal will head to Triple-A Syracuse for now, but it probably won't be long before the Nats give him a chance and he just might be their closer by the end of the month. It really is the right role for him, since he'd almost never be asked to come in with men on base."
Nationals definitely needed him. Good pick up for the Nats who have nothing to lose except games in the 8th and 9th inning.
