Prospect Viciedo gone, but not forgotten

Viciedo gone, but not forgotten | whitesox.com: News

PHOENIX -- Dayan Viciedo, one of the most intriguing players in White Sox camp, is gone. But not for long, and for good reason.

The infielder from Cuba was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to speed his assimilation to American baseball and to get ample playing time.
White Sox fans have to be excited with the impression he left at camp and could be up before he's legally able to drink. 20 years old and in AAA already.

MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

I say before the deadline because the White Sox are so weak at third. Sox are weak at CF and 2B too so I see a lot of shuffling back and forth for Ozzie Guillen.

I give it until about mid-April with the way Guillen is with his patience....if he has any left after losing Crede.

Re: Viciedo gone, but not forgotten

Viciedo is such an exciting player to watch. He really could be a player that we see just explode before our eyes. The ceiling is there and he seems poise to just keep getting better.

I think his callup is dependent on a few things:
1.) How much he mashes in AAA.
2.) How impatient Guillen is getting for some help at 3B.
3.) Has he lost his super two status? Has he?

I think seeing him in late June is very possible. Giving him some time to adjust in AAA and not moving him around too much as he learns the culture would probably be beneficial for him, but if he hits AAA pitching as many are expecting him too, I don't know how short that stint will be.
