Griffey will not retire this year

At least according to the ESPN ticker which was just updated. With his 4 million buyout, he needs to continue his desire to play to get that buyout as opposed to retiring and missing out on that. But I believe he is sincere in his desire to keep playing, some players recognize when the odds are too great against them and others don't.... hell, Griffey's comeback from the injuries is a testament to his desire to get back to the game that most simply do not have. With that said, I think given the scouting reports and the fact that I can't see Griffey signing a dirt cheap contract out of pride, it might be an ugly offseason for The Kid.
