    White Sox Scott Linebrink

No offseason move by general manager Ken Williams was scrutinized more than the four-year, $19 million deal he gave to right-handed reliever Scott Linebrink. For many, it was way too much money for a setup man, even with the nightmarish bullpen the White Sox had to endure in 2007. But through his first 19 appearances, Linebrink has a lights-out 1.47 ERA, including an American League-leading 11 holds. Linebrink has not allowed a run in seven May outings and owns an ERA of 0.68 in his last 13 games. Linebrink is a big reason the Sox' bullpen entered the finale against the Giants ranked second in the AL with a 3.16 ERA.
I try and follow every team to see who is doing well and what is what but this totally blew my mind. I did not realize how well he is doing! I knew he got off to a good start but didn't pay him much mind but now I will. Looks like he turned things around for himself. Will he keep it up for four years? Probably not but year one is off to a great start.

Awesome, I had a feeling he'd bounce back.

    Good to see him succeeding.

Also good to see him still wearing #71 in honor of the Padres bullpen catcher who had cancer.

    He's still alive.

I'm honestly not sure of the status of his brain tumor, though.

Here's an article on him from NC Times from last year.

Good to see him honoring someone like that.
