    Uribe On Waivers

The White Sox have placed Juan Uribe on waivers, a scout told the Chicago Tribune.
This is quite a surprise, as there were strong indications Uribe was the favorite to start at second base on Opening Day. The White Sox could now go with Alexei Ramirez and Danny Richar. They don't stand to save much money with the move. Uribe is guaranteed $4.5 million this season, and the White Sox will be on the hook for $4.1 million of it unless Uribe is traded.
Richar is out 4-6 weeks with a rib cage fracture so Ramirez is the guy. You know you have fallen if the White Sox don't want you. I can't think of any teams that need his services.

The Giants could use Uribe at shortstop.

I remember when he was awesome in 2004, but since he has been on the fast track to suck.

Yeah, Uribe's really not gonna help the team at this point.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

This is quite a drop in popularity, isn't it? He was one of the catalysts on the Sox WS winning team and now he's out the door.

He is once again the starting 2B for the Sox.
