White Sox vs. Tigers 8/21-8/24

This series is HUGE. Another sweep by the White Sox, though unlikely, would put them within 1 loss of Detroit, and make the Central division race a whole new ball game. The good news for the Sox is they're 9-3 against the Tigers this season, including 4-2 at Comerica Park. The bad news for the Sox is they lost the last series at Comerica 1-2. Ending this on a good note, the White Sox OWN Justin Verlander, whom they will be facing in tommorrow's game. Verlander in his short career is 0-3 against the White Sox with an ERA of 9.88, a WHIP of 2.20, and a BAA of .422 in 13.2 innings.

All-in-all, not a bad series for the Sox. Garland continues his dominance with a complete game shutout today, while Jermaine Dye continued to show why he should be your American League Most Valuable Player. If a team is going to split a 4 game series with its main competitior, that's the way to do it. Get their hopes up for something big, then crush, demoralize, and dominate them in the last 2 games.

Why would you be commenting on that series in this thread? Just a reminder, your beloved Twins are still behind the White Sox, and have to play them on the road this time. Need I remind you that the Twins are sub-.500 on the road and the White Sox are 18 games over .500 at home?
