Royals vs. White Sox 8/14-8/17

This series is a very good situation for the White Sox. FOR ONCE, the White Sox get the Royals while the Tigers play a tough team instead of the other way around, like it has been a few times this year. The White Sox have to win this series, and another sweep would be great. Anything less than a series win would be a disappointment however, since the Tigers will probably give a couple more games back in Boston IF the White Sox beat the Royals.

The White Sox trounced the Royals last night. Given the lead by an 8 run 4th, Jon Garland put up a solid performance, allowing 7 hits and an earned run over 7 innings. It was a good performance by almost every aspect of the team last night. On another positive note, with his 3-for-3 day, Brian Anderson raised his average to .225. Not bad for a guy who was hitting below the Mendoza line not 2 months ago.

Well, this series became a disappointment last night, with no chance for the White Sox to win it. A split is a disappointment when playing a team this bad.
