    White Sox Finally!

I hesitate to say it, but after tonight's game, it just feels right...

    THEY'RE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

FINALLY the bats decided to wake up when they were needed, JUST in time to get a crucial game in the standings and top the Tigers 4-3. As of late, the White Sox just have not been able to get hits with runners in scoring position, and that has resulted in scoring very few runs. That's not the only reason I say that though. Tonight was the first time in a long time that the pitching was great, the defense was great, and the hitting was timely and just enough to get the job done, in other words, the three hallmarks of the 2005 World Champs. Of course one game and one win isn't enough to say for sure that this team is on the right track, but tonight's game was definitely a great start in the right direction.

Well now I have to question if this was the return of the champs or the emergence of Alex Cintron. Maybe all the team needed was a little offense from the SS position?

It doesn't matter which team the game is against (although beating the main competition in the division is always a good thing), what matters is how the White Sox are playing. Earlier in the year, it seemed like the fashion was get up big early and hang on to get a win. That'll get you nowhere when the games start to matter. Over the past two games though, the keys to the win have been great pitching, great defense, and timely hitting. That's how the Sox got it done last year, and that's probably the best way for them to get it done again.

As for the Tigers being a flash in the pan? I doubt that with Verlander, Zumaya, Bonderman, and Maroth in their rotation for the next few years starting next year, especially with their offense.

The Tigers are a very young team, i dont think they will be a flash in a pan at all. The White Sox needed this victory and they delivered.

If they don't get hit with the injury bug and if Verlander and Zumaya can keep it up all season (I pick on them because they're rookies), there's no reason to expect they won't be.

Obviously the pitching failed last night. No team wins every game, and the way Garland is pitching right now, no team is going to win many when he's on the mound.

For a perfect example of what I was talking about at the beginning of this thread, see today's game. What an awesome finish.
