Cubs ready to make more moves?

The Cubs could make one or two more moves by Wednesday, the deadline for waiver trades. The Cleveland Indians are among the teams believed to be interested in second baseman Todd Walker, a left-handed hitter who is batting .303 and has played in both leagues.

The Cubs traded outfielder Matt Lawton to the New York Yankees on Saturday.

Trade deadlines can be distracting, but manager Dusty Baker said his players have not shown it outwardly.

"Guys don't discuss it or talk about it much,'' he said. "It's something you have little control over. I'm sure some guys are conscious of it and aware of it, but until it happens, you can't do anything about it. They have to concentrate on what they have to do with us, here and today.''

Todd Walker to go? Man he really does move around a lot. Would you guys want him to get traded? And for what would you want from the Indians?

The Cu-hubs figure to get something for Walker as they don't plan on resigning him for next year.

i like his bat, but his defense isnt exactly all that great. Hes a good guy, but i think its time he went on his way. Cedeno will be a better 2nd baseman than walker, and if the cubs can get furcal....

Ahhh didn't know Cedeno could play 2B. He and Furcal would be a nice combination.

Dude...is this Roger Cedeno we're talking about? Cause he can't hit a beachball.

That being said, JERRY HAIRSTON would be a better 2B for the Cubbies.

lol no. its ronnie cedeno. rookie shortstop for the cubbies. He's been pretty solid with the bat this year with very good defense. upgrade over the great neifi perez.

Yea that's a good point. I like what he has done this year and if Corey can play well in CF that opens up both corner outfield spots for next year. Murton might take one and then we could spend some bling on another guy.

With Nomar expected to not be with the Cubs next season, wouldn't Cedeno play SS next year? And if Nomar is back, wouldn't Hairston be a good option at 2B either way? If so, there is no room for Walker anyway.

Move Derrek Lee and Carlos Zambrano to Atlanta for Adam LaRoche and Horacio Ramirez. That would be so fantastic!
