Cubs likely to say "no" to Nomah and "yes" to Maddux

    From sportsline:

The Cubs are unlikely to offer a 2006 contract to Nomar Garciaparra and are still undecided about picking up a $2.5 million option on second baseman Todd Walker, but the team expects pitcher Greg Maddux, says the Chicago Sun-Times.
Poor Nomah...someone will give him a chance. I think he could do well if he could stay healthy.

Yeah so do I, this kind of sucks to hear for Nomar. He was once touted as being as good as ARod and Jeter. Remember those days? Now, Nomar may not get resigned to a team that needs that type of talent?

cubs have no choice on maddux unless they immediately stop pitching him, as he is only 3 mediocre starts away from getting his 400 innings over the past two years.

Yea. Maddux should be back whether we want to or not. I'd like to see Walker back. Nomar, probably not. Too much of a risk. Then it's is Ronny Cedeno an everyday SS or do we find a FA?

Go for Furcal, they need top of the lineup talent.

..'cause I don't know much about the Cedeno guy.

I don't want him on the Braves, that's for sure. I like Nomar..but he's terrible.

KC could use Nomar to join their famous list of past stars who go on the DL. Juan Gone, Benito, etc.

The yanks will sign him to play 2nd base and keep with the current trend of picking up the garbage of the Saux.

There's always that chance Nomar can be healthy. If that were to happen, then you know he's very good. But I'll probably be dead before he's ever healthy again.

Knowing the Cubs luck, he goes to the Cards and wins the MVP.
