When I first bumped this thread I stumbled upon it looking for another one I wanted to just read through for nostalgia stuff (I'm stupid like that sometimes)

Anyway, I totally get the concept of changing an over-arching "losing culture" to turn the ship, and while I did a poor job of expressing it in my old posts in here, I was basically arguing just that when arguing with Prynce.

I was fixated on the fact that they overhauled the entire organization...and an overhauled organization could also focus on changing the lingering culture with their changes.

Prynce was basically arguing "they're they Cubs, they lose, see, even Lou Pinella couldn't do it".

Pointing out how other teams, and now even the Cubs, changed their culture and it lead to success actually supports the argument I was trying to make.

I don't know we were ever necessarily in disagreement, at least fully. I think it was a lot of haphazard posting and talking past each other.

Man, I miss coming to B/S drunk and trying to coherently discuss baseball.
