They need to find a way to spark the offense. A callup of a top prospect can usually help that.

Oh they're ready, I just think they want to squeeze another year of control out of them, and/or avoid a possible super two status.

Holy crap. The Cubs scored six runs in one inning.

Yes sir! Easily the most fun Cubs game to watch this year so far. Probably won't be seeing that run total many times this year.

Also, earlier I saw a report that 90% of team officials around the league believe Garza will be traded by the deadline. I wonder if contract extension talks aren't going well.

If Garza keeps pitching like he has, I think the Cubs would be fools not to trade him in my opinion. That would bring some salary relief and some good prospects to better the future.

They have to get a better package than they gave up for him. Otherwise, flex those big market muscles, and sign him to an extension.

Stewart with a three run home run and LaHair with a grand slam puts the Cubs up 8 to 0 early on.

Love poring it on the Cards, especially on their home opener!

Missed the game yesterday, Cubs lose 5-1.

Maholm tries to redeem himself today, with a head scratching lineup by Sveum.

    And Maholm gets rocked again.

Officially going to Wrigley on Saturday, when the Cubs play the Reds. I'll be in the bleachers!

Maholm better get his shit together by then, he's the projected starting pitcher.

Re: Wait Til Next Year v2

Well, looks like I got false information from the bar manager that is supposed to be hosting the bus trip to Wrigley. He told me that no matter what we are going. Now I hear from my friend that he talked to the owner and that tomorrow it will be decided whether it will happen or be canceled due to not enough people signing up. It's really not a big deal, as I already have two trips planned this summer. But it's just going to be a disappointment.

Cubs are in Miami tonight. Commie Ozzie returns to the dugout. No Zambrano this series ().

I'm getting a bit disappointed with Sveum's lineups. Not as bad as Quade's. But Barney doesn't belong anywhere about the 8 spot. LaHair should be hitting higher. Bleh.

Cubs lose 5-2, but Dempster pitches great again.

Cubs trip on Sat. is off. The bar owner is trying to sell the tickets for full price for Saturday's game. I told him good luck
