Thread: Series Thread - Cubs @ Reds

    July 20th

Wood out after 3 innings, gave up 3 runs, and had a 66-pitch count. If Kerry Wood is not healthy, put him back on DL. He can go farther than 66 pitches. Though he is having some control issue, but it's not to the point where he's giving up 5 or 6 runs.
Why the heck did Baker put Burnitz in CF while Gerut in right. Gerut could actually play center.

    Ouch

Kerry Wood left the game due to an injured neck/shoulder. Just saw it on gameday.

first off, Burnitz can play centerfield quite well. He played it last year in spacious coors field. second off, gerut is primarily a right fielder. and his speed isnt good enough to play centerfield right now, as he is coming off of ACL surgery last year.

so why NOT put him in at center and put the new kid at right where he usually plays?

as for Kerry wood if he has a neck/arm strain, see what its like tomorrow and go from there. and yes, remlinger should be gone.

Just read about that. Doesn't sound series, but then again, it is from the Cubs.

Bottom of the 8th, 6-3 Reds. Rusch is in for his second inning.
Due up in the 9th, Burnitz, Ramirez, and Hollandsworth. Let's go Cubs.

Darn it, 7-3 now. We need a big come back in the 9th. the Braves won, the Phillies won, the Astros won, and the Cards are winning.

They arent going to take any chances with him. but you have to wonder if its regular stiffness/pain or abnormal pain? kerry's probably so gun shy right now that it can be crazy.

I know. Wood wants to pitch, he might not even tell the complete truth, IDK. Too bad that Wood cannot stay healthy, such a waste of a talent.

The Cubs' offense attactcked early today, leading the Red 5-1 in the 4th, with Lee on and Ramirez at bat.

Maddux, just need 3 more Ks to become the 13th pitcher in the 300-win and 3000-k Club.

Maddux ends 2 short I belive. Sucky game today. Started off really good and got to a 5-1 lead but then the Reds just come storming back get up 9-5 and win 9-6. We started off the Reds series great and then end it losing the last 2 and with Wood likely going on the DL .
    I aim to try
