Pena has two hits in his last two games, both of them HRs. They were the first HRs he has hit in a Cubs uniform and it took him til May to do so. No doubt he has been a huge disappointment this far but is this the turning point? Pena has a batting line of .169/.293/.260 and has even been a bit slow on defense. Cubs really need him to turn it on if they want to stay near the top of the weak NL Central all year.
Speaking of turning it on, Soriano has 11 HRs so far but too bad he only has three walks and a lousy .274 OBP. He hit only 24 HRs all of last year. If the Cubs can get Ramirez and Pena to starting catching up to Soriano in the power department, the Cubs could be a force. Cubs are 16th in HRs and could be doing a lot better.
