Rothchild Will Be Back

A team source tells Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com that Cubs pitching coach Larry Rothschild informed the team Monday that he is picking up his option to return next season.
Rothschild has been the team's pitching coach for the past nine seasons. The Cubs were 13th in the league with a 4.18 ERA this season, after ranking in the top five from 2007-09. It's not known if a high-profile new manager could have an impact on his plans to return next season.

I think this will be Larry's last year in Chicago. Ten years is a nice round number and he has done a good job. I'm sure he can get a fresh start somewhere else.

He's done a great job. Our pitching staff wouldn't have been nearly as good over the past decade without him.
