    Ramirez To Sign 4 year Extension

    WMVP 1000's Bruce Levine (beat reporter) has reported that the cubs have agreed to a 4 year extension with a 5th year option. more details later in the day.

    Thank god it finally happened. I was really worried Hendry was gonna drop the ball, he doesn't do it much and it's good to see he hasn't yet.

    Ramirez has an interesting out clause in his contract. I wonder if he'll use it if he has a couple of great years.

    that out clause is there for two reasons: in case he does have those two really good seasons, he can opt out of it so they can re-negotiate and also if the organization starts sliding downhill he can opt out if he hates the direction they are going. he doesnt expect to use the out clause.
