Does Borowski need to go back to AAA?

Borowski (0-0, 6.48 ERA) gave up three hits and two runs. His fastball failed to hit 90 mph and his slider was erratic. "He has room to grow, but it's a matter if he can get (his velocity) back," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "That's something you don't know. Velocity I'm not concerned with as much as location, and as much as how the other pitches work. You can get away with 87, 89 (mph), as long as your slider's good and your split-finger's good and your location's good." (updated: 6/14/05)
It sounds almost like Joe is still trying to recover, yet he is at the majors. I'd like to see him go back down.

"He has room to grow," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said of the reliever, who was the Cubs closer in 2003. "It's just a matter of whether he does get back.

"Velocity doesn't concern me as much as location and how his other pitches look," Baker said. "You can get away with 87, 89 [mph], as long as your slider is good and your split finger is good and your location is good. Right now, it's a matter of location and his slider being sporadic. He'll throw one good one and one hanging one. I think too much is made of velocity. The game is location and movement."

"I'm making my pitches for the most part," Borowski said after Monday's game. "Things aren't falling my way."

Send him down and get a guy who is healthy in my opion.
