Dignity requires caring what others think of you.
Don't get me wrong. I don't completely blow off my dignity, but when it's a choice between 25K and not wanting to sign a photograph of a completely misconstrued event that I was the centerpiece of......give me the money and I'll sign.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
Dignity is about what you think of yourself and selling yourself takes away from your dignity. If he signs anything, that shows an admission of guilt which he is not guilty in the least bit. Its a bullshit reason for Cubs fans to get Bartman out hiding and its not worth it and never will be. Bartman's named has been ruined to a degree and all the money in the world won't change that. There are still angry Cubs fan out there.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
If his name is already ruined by misguided perception he may as well get something out of it. :dunno:
Signing the photo isn't an admission of anything. It's just putting a signature on a photograph.
It's not like they're offering him 25,000 to sign some kind of admission of guilt.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
And back to the "dignity" cop out, 2 things.
1. I would know I'm not guilty and that's all that would really matter.
2. Idiot Cubs fans are going to continue to blame him and think he's guilty whether he signs the pictures or not.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
You are so naive but its cool. You would sell your soul while others wouldn't. I know why he wouldn't do this bullshit and applaud him. "Dignity" is more valuable and not a cop out in the least. $25k isn;t worth an admission of guilt which is exactly what it would be.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
Now you're comparing signing some pictures for 25,000 dollars to selling your soul?
You must be toking up hard this morning.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
Yes and maybe some pot would open your eyes. It is selling your soul but you can't grasp that. Its sad and maybe one day you will get it. I guess I was just raised different and so far I have been quite successful.
Re: Bartman turns down 25,000$ autograph signing offer
Its nice to see the lame pot jokes again!
