Cubs Cubs finally lose at home

The Cubs lead the Major Leagues with 24 come-from-behind wins, but came up short on Tuesday night.

Brian Roberts, rumored all season to be traded to the Cubs, looked right at home at Wrigley Field, going 3-for-5, including an RBI triple, to lead the Orioles to a 7-5 Interleague victory over Chicago.

The loss snapped the Cubs' home winning streak at 14 games, their longest since a two-week stretch, June 4-July 10, 1936.

They tried to rally from a 7-1 deficit. The Cubs closed to 7-4 in the seventh on Jim Edmonds' three-run homer, driving in Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez, who both singled. Ramirez added an RBI single in the eighth.

Sean Marshall, called up from Triple-A Iowa to take injured Carlos Zambrano's spot in the rotation, took the loss. The left-hander (0-1) struck out seven but also gave up seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The Orioles had two on and one out in the fourth to set up Luke Scott's two-run triple. The Cubs answered in their half when Kosuke Fukudome led off with his sixth homer, a shot to straight away center, off Jeremy Guthrie (4-7). Chicago has 22 homers in its last 11 games at Wrigley Field, hitting at least one in each game.

In the Baltimore fifth, Nick Markakis hit a one-out RBI double and scored one batter later on Kevin Millar's single to open a 4-1 lead and chase Marshall.

In the Orioles' sixth, Scott blooped a ball in shallow center that shortstop Ryan Theriot appeared to have his eye on, but backed off at the last second and it dropped beyond left fielder Eric Patterson's outstretched glove for an error. One out later, Alex Cintron hit an RBI double, and he scored one out later on Roberts' triple. Markakis followed with an RBI single to make it 7-1.
