^ Agreed, They will have to use Marmol or Howry on occasions especially in the beginning of the season for just that reason.

Marmol should be the closer. Nothing else needs to be said.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

As a Cubs fan, I fully support Wood as the closer. Marmol has been great in the clutch, but has also been bad. It was Marmol blowing Game 1 of the NLDS that made many question taking out Zambrano early. Plus Wood has by FAR been the best of the three this Spring. With Wood pitching under 100 innings, I have no doubt he'll stay healthy.

Well, spoken as a true fan, it is good to see the loyality and faith one has in there team.

    still like Marmol though.

as a setupman he would have to do the same. Howry was routinely used 3 days in a row. (almost no reliever is used 4 days in a row, even if he is a closer). besides, if he is hurt, Marmol can slide right in.

Also, the setup man role is probably more important than a closer really. Because the toughest outs arent always in the 9th inning.

I understand that the 7th and 8th innings are almost important, but the 9th inning you need to be healthy and establish stability or your bullpen in in disarray for an extended period of time. Then pitchers start pitching in roles they are NOT accustomed to pitching in.
