    The 2008 Cubs Batting Order

Reports are saying Piniella has settled on a lineup and it will look like this:

    1. Theriot
    2. Soriano
    3. Lee
    4. Ramirez
    5. Fukudome
    6. DeRosa
    7. Soto
    8. Pie

I personally think this is a dumb lineup but the Brian Roberts trade would change things a lot. I do not like Soriano hitting second! Soriano is the perfect fit as a #5 guy in the lienup. He has power, speed and drives in a lot of runs. I think Fukudome should be hitting second.

Eh? Soriano's not exactly your typical RBI guy. Plus, he's a speedster, so he belongs at the top of the lineup. Piniella knows what he's doing.

He's not your typical RBI guy because he always bats leadoff. A speedstar out of the five hole would be more beneficial since he doesn't have a good OBP. That way the bottom of your lineup has more of a chance to drive in runs. Soriano drove in 104 runs in '05 when he hit 5th for most of the season. Fukudome is pretty darn fast himself.
