LOS ANGELES -- Jerome Williams' return to the major leagues may not be as quick as anticipated.

Williams, the 23-year-old right-hander acquired Saturday from San Francisco in the LaTroy Hawkins trade, made his Iowa Cubs debut Tuesday night, allowing two earned runs over six innings.

Williams yielded seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts, hitting a batter and throwing two wild pitches.

I think he will be a solid pitcher once he gets in shape. He has all the skills, just needs to get into shape. He was great for San Fran last year.
