In a perfect world yes. But how many teams DONT have some "black hole" somewhere in their lineup?
Anaheim: Maicer Izturis
Boston: Coco Crisp, Julio Lugo
Cleveland: Josh Barfield, arguably Trot Nixon (not everyday player)
Detroit: Craig Monroe
Atlanta: They moved Salty to 1b to try and fill that black hole, and some guy named Jones... Andruw that is.
Los Angeles: Juan Pierre- I dont care how fast you can run if you cant get on.
Milwaukee: 3b was for them until they called up Ryan Braun. Geoff Jenkins has any sort of struggles and his numbers could become that low.
New York Mets: 2b Platoon, David Newhan hasnt exactly been hitting great since taking over for Alou in LF.
Every team has guys that you dont expect to hit much.

True, every team has black holes, but that doesn't mean (1) you should go trade for one or (2) that you couldn't have a black hole for a lot cheaper.

Pirates (I think I heard 5 mil dont quote me on that) and A's are paying part of the contract so its not that bad.
Re: Jason Kendall is now a Cubbie
Kendall isn't costing them much and is great calling a game. Kendall has been hitting the ball better lately. The A's got a good arm for their future bullpen and a backup catcher. Win,win.

Gotay has become the regular second baseman and is hitting the ball great, Newhan isn't even on the roster anymore I think as Lastings Milledge is getting most of the PT now in left with Easley every now and then.
