Dallas Mavericks Owner Wants the Cubs

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has submitted his application to purchase the Cubs.
It's just the first step in a long process. Cuban's interest in the Cubs has been known for months, but as great as it would be for the game, it's a huge long shot that the league's owners would let him into the club. No one likely to rock the boat is going to allowed to be the majority owner of a major league team.

For that it'd be a shame. Cuban's the most committed owner in the NBA, and he lets his front office people do their jobs.

I as a red fan would welcome him into baseball. He'd be more involved than the Chicago Sun Tribune people have been the entire time they have owned the Cubs.

Plus he makes for a great quote machine.

This is the sort of headache baseball needs. Someone with the will and desire more along the lines of George than another run o the mill ownership group thats more worried about bottom lines than the product on the field.

Slyder, you are probably right. Either way, I kind of don't care. Not a Cub fan or Cuban fan. He needs to be in the spot light too. I am old-school, I guess. Just like it when the owner is NOT in the fore front, like Jerry Jones, Michael Snyder, George, etc.
