    Piniella Suspended Indefinitely

It was a calculated move designed to fire up his team. We'd take no issue with a month-long suspension. It has to be extremely humiliating to just stand there in full view of 35,000 people when another guy is kicking dirt on you. In any other situation, Piniella would have gotten himself punched in the face and woke up in a hospital bed the next day.
I never really liked Piniella when he was with Seattle and I'm surprised he got the job with the Cubs.

I am shocked he is out indefinitely. Come on now. Anyhow, these Cubs would look as if they were falling apart but they countered with a vengeance today with a 10-1 win over the Braves. Ouch.

Maybe Piniella's blowing up is paying off? I love a firey manager.

indefinitely for something managers do all the time?

    That's a bit harsh.

    Who's the interim manager?

I like a fiery manager too, but I like it when they are fiery only when need to be, (i.e.-see Bobby Cox or Tony LaRussa, to name a couple of Hall of Famers!)

I do agree that it's a bit lame to go out and argue with the umpire just to "make a statement" when you actually agree with the call.

But the indefinite suspension is a bit too harsh if you ask me.

The Cubs are sucking it up with the rest of the NL central. I think Piniella has the right to be pissed. He wants to win and feels he has the team to do so. But they are just not cooperating.

I havent watched many Cubs games this year and I cannot be sure of some of that blame can't be contributed to him. But he definitely knows how to show people that things will change or else he will spontaneously combust.

I just watched it via MLB.TV

He did make contact with the ump trying to get between him and the 3rd base ump, but it was incidental contact as he was trying to keep arguing with the other guy.

either way, an indefinite suspension is a bit much.

Alan Trammell. I don't know anything about him at all. Just looked it up.

Trammell played SS for the Tigers in the 80's and 90's.. Also tired to manage the Tigers a couple of years back, just before Leyland took over last year!

Good luck to Trammell!!! He will need it. Even though they come to Milwaukee. I probably just jinxed my Brewers!

Trammell was the third base coach for the Padres before he went to manage the Tigers.

only because fat ass froemming put his hands on lou first. Lou should have dropped his fat ass as the umpire had zero right to be putting his hands on Lou.

supposedly he will be getting five games, which is 4 games too long.

Suspended indefinitely? That's a complete joke. At most I would suspend him for a game but probably not even that...this is ridiculous
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Lou should be out no more than three games. Lou is Lou, when the fire gets under him all hell breaks loose. The one thing it has done though is put a spark into the Cubs players. The Cubs should be a better team than the record shows. There just making the dumb mistakes.

Ah Sweet Lou I miss that type of "fire in the belly" approach to managing. All of the Reds recent managers havent had it and I wish theyd given Narron a position elsewhere and let Lou come home to where he won the big one.

I saw it live on WGN and thats a joke he's suspended indefinately. Anyone know Davey Johnson's phone number? Lou needs a good disguise guy .
