Cubs Cubs Reinstate Pagan, Cut Womack

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs recalled outfielder Angel Pagan from an injury rehabilitation assignment Friday and reinstated him from the 60-day disabled list.

To make room on the 40-man roster, they designated veteran infielder Tony Womack for assignment.

Pagan went on the DL on April 16 with a strained left hamstring. He played in nine games before the injury and was batting .263.

Womack appeared in 19 games for the Cubs, hitting .280 with a home run and two RBI and was sent back to the minors earlier this week. Womack was signed by Triple-A Iowa on May 7 and called up by the Cubs on May 26. He began the season with the Cincinnati Reds.

You think Hosmack might get the idea that he blows and finally retire?

I don't think anyone will give him a contract. You have to be sick to even try. Yes I am calling the Reds and the Cubs sick.

Well, when he clears waivers, teams can sign him for the minimum.

    He'd make a decent pinch-runner.
