Yesterday, in a game that ended in a 5-5 tie, Papelbon had 5 innings of scoreless work.

Jonathan Papelbon shut out the Marlins for five innings Friday in a game that was declared a 5-5 tie after 10 innings.
Chris Smith relieved Papelbon and gave up all of Florida's runs. Papelbon entered with a 10.13 ERA, so his performance today was pretty encouraging, even if he did walk three. He gave up just one hit.

That is pretty encouraging as he looked horrible earlier. Granted, this is the Marlins, but they have had a good pre-season so far.

Here is the MLB Recap, and Youk looks like he could hit for a tad of power at 1B this year

Red Sox at the plate: Kevin Youkilis went deep for the third time this spring, belting a three-run shot in the fourth inning. Manny Ramirez singled and scored a run.

Marlins at the plate: Chris Aguila smashed a two-run homer in the sixth inning. It was Aguila's first homer of the exhibition season.

Red Sox on the mound: Right-hander Jonathan Papelbon turned in what was easily his best outing of the spring, firing five shutout innings. Papelbon gave up one hit and struck out two.

Marlins on the mound: Right-hander Josh Johnson, who came in 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, had his first blemish of Spring Training. He surrendered five hits and five runs -- three earned -- over four innings, walking two and not recording any strikeouts.

Grapefruit League records: Red Sox 4-11-1; Marlins 10-5-1.

At this point, their game today against Toronto is almost over and the Sox are looking at a win. *gasp*
