Good signs recently from the Red Sox

Manny is still really, really cold, but...

Edgar Renteria has gotten really hot recently as he came to Fenway for the first time. A HR and a triple (I think, might have been a double) off of the Randy Johnson led Yankees, and he continued his hot play on the field and in the box v. the Devil Rays. It was Nomo, but still, he's looking really good after a crappy start.

David Wells did a great job last night v. a decent Devil Rays lineup. They're no Yankees, and he did give up a fair amount of hits, but a good job by him.

Papi's has 11 RB in 10 games, and he's on a nice start.

Foulke continued his gutsy performance by throwing 60 (IIRC, and if so, wow) pitches against the Yankees. It was ugly, but it was scoreless.

As I say that about Manny, he hits 2 HR, including a GS. Hahaha.

Renteria stayed hot, Payton did his job v. LHP, and Wakefield is doing VERY well. I'm very happy.

Devil Rays is a good tonic for the Red Sox or for anyone for that matter.

Yankees will feel good for the next two games with the D-Rays coming to town.

2 more Manny HR today and two miscatches from what I hear. Still a win, and if you have Schill v. a rookie, you want those wins.

A wins a win. I am pretty pleased with the Red Sox at the moment. I think we have a bit of a reliance on hitting a few homers, but our pitching is improving as the season grows older.

David Wells was running on all cylinders last night.

    Yeppers.

Yeah, the loss to TB was ugly, but I blame the Mets for trading him for a bag of wild beans, to a division opponent. Kazmir's a beast.
