Major League Baseball Properties, MLB Advanced Media and Century 21 Real Estate LLC today announced the 12 finalists for the Hank Aaron Award presented by CENTURY 21. From September 6 through 30, fans will be able to vote from among the six finalists in each League to determine the American League and National League recipients of the 2005 Hank Aaron Award presented by CENTURY 21. Voting will take place exclusively at MLB.com, the official Web site of Major League Baseball.

The six finalists from both the American and National League for the 2005 Hank Aaron Award presented by CENTURY 21 are:

American League
Miguel Tejada - BALTIMORE ORIOLES
David Ortiz - BOSTON RED SOX
Paul Konerko - CHICAGO WHITE SOX
Vladimir Guerrero - LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM
Alex Rodriguez - NEW YORK YANKEES
Mark Teixeira - TEXAS RANGERS

National League
Andruw Jones - ATLANTA BRAVES
Derrek Lee - CHICAGO CUBS
Ken Griffey Jr. - CINCINNATI REDS
Miguel Cabrera - FLORIDA MARLINS
Morgan Ensberg - HOUSTON ASTROS
Albert Pujols - ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

The award, in spite of it's differing voting processes, has been dominated by a few players. Prominently, Alex Rodriguez (3), Barry Bonds (3), and Manny Ramirez (2). Sosa, Delgado, Pujols, and Helton have all won once as an award is given to both an AL and NL player.

While not the best hitter on the AL Side, my pure bias in the spirit of ASG voting may just throw a few out there for Mr. Ortiz.

Funny, how in spite of another great year, Manny can't get nominated over Mr. Mango Salsa, oh well.
