Red Sox designated LHP Mike Remlinger for assignment.
That couldn't have been much more of a disaster. Remlinger allowed 14 runs -- 11 earned -- and 15 hits in 6 2/3 innings with the Red Sox.

Wow, he sucked hard. They recalled Abe Alvarez for the Sox and he's warming up as I post this in the bottom of the 7th. I didn't think he'd suck as much as the Cubs fans told us, but he did. Wow, glad he's gone though.

Speaking of call-ups, on September 1st, the Sox will be calling up some real relief help (hopefully) in Craig Hansen along with Lenny and Squigy Dinardo and Kelly Shoppach.

Craig Hansen is an absolute beast...I can't believe he fell that far in the draft, I thought he was Top 10 material.

He only fell that far due to his contract demands for a major league deal. He'll be getting a million a year for the next three after this one, so calling him up won't hurt.
