The Sox's cow yard gets shuffled again

Well, the deckchairs on the Titanic known as the Red Sox bullpen (with Mike Timlin owning the only life preserver) have been rearranged.

Abe Alvarez with his immortal ERA over the 9 mark in two appearences has been sent down for the young Manny Delcarmen, who wasn't great but is better than anything the Sox have.

They also claimed Chad Harville off of waivers, giving them two Chads. Very interesting, since he has been a good pitcher, but as the 12th guy on the 25-man in Houston he was out for the pitching staff. Still better than a lot of what the Sox have. He's also younger than most of the team at 28 and he's been at least adequate over his short career. Good move to claim him, since IIRC, he's cheap as well and using guys like Remlinger and Alvarez wasn't working.

Did you also here that Hansen is out for a week or so with "dead arm" syndrome...looks like he won't be helping out any time soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put him on the DL to make him eligible for post-season when he comes off ala K-Rod. We'll see. I'm not that surprised, disappointed though.
