why? dude's hurt. odds are as good that he will just keep on pitching bad as they are that he would pitch well.Quote:

I think you have to take that chance with a guy who's been a proven big-game pitcher, especially with a fragile rotation right now.
I wouldn't call it fragile. It's the pen that needs help at this point.
Yeah, that game sucked for 3 reasons
A) Curt Schilling disappointing (FWIW, I agree with Browntown. I think the Sox have made their bed with this one, they can't turn him back to closer/RP again)
B) Matt Stairs injury
C) Losing 2 of 3 to the Royals.
He's getting hammered again...5 earned through 4 innings. 9 hits (4 singles, 4 doubles, 1 triple), 0 walks, and 3 k's. The Devil Dogs are winning 5 - 2 going into the bottom of the 4th.
He sucks. Realize it already, people. He's old and injured.
Schilling is done after 6 ineffective innings.
6 innings, 5 earned runs, 9 hits (4 doubles, 4 singles, 1 triple), 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Raising his ERA to to a robust 6.96.
Move him back to the pen.
Actually, no. Leave him there, so he keeps getting shelled by shitty teams and the Yanks keep gaining ground.
Could have been quite a bit worse, mostly because he essentially had one really shitty inning. After that inning, he had four innings of two hit ball (one infield single) and kept the Sox within winning reach, which they happened to do.
And as for this shitty team, they did have a better record than the Yankees since the ASB IIRC, and the Sox.
Wow...I just realized IIRC means if I recall correctly. Go me.
