How disappointed will you be if the Sox don't even make the playoffs and get a chance to "defend" their title?

If they don't make the playoffs, then their defense of the title was so bad that they didn't even make it to the final battlefield, and in that case, their defense was a failure.

If they don't make the playoffs? Well, I can't say I'll be that surprised. I have to face facts, their SPs are mediocre and they have no bullpen, that with bad position playing does not win titles. Considering they are still this close while getting almost nothing from guys like Foulke and Schilling, I'm surprised.

Well, this was a good sports weekend (although I had way too much HW)

Sweep Orioles
Gain a game on both the Yankees and Indians
Pats win a squeaker

Sweet, I want at least 5 of 7 wins to feel decent about the Sox chances (3 of 4 from Toronto, 2 of 3 from New York).
