What do you guys think of Manny taking it easy? Does it even bother Joe Soxfan? I'm curious.

If I were a Sox fan, then it would piss me off. As a non-sox fan, I find it high-larious. On the local sports last night, they said that Francona was to give Manny Wednesday off, but with Nixon getting injured he asked Manny to play and Manny said "No, I still need the day off." Then the sportscaster said "the odd thing is that the Sox have tomorrow (thursday) off."

Manny's just having his somewhat annual hissy fit. I have a feeling that as the race heats up, he'll be back to normal. Someone prolly barged into his house and he was offended and now he's taking it out on his team. I figure he'll be over it soon, although I am pissed that he refused to play. It isn't like LF is catcher/pitcher, or they were playing today.

Manny leads the league in RBIs. If he wants to take a day off, I'm not gonna *****. He does his job.

The only thing is, Manny is the one that is doing all the whining for you. Yes, he does his job, ver well I might add, but why in the world would you want to leave a championship team. He deserves a day off upon request IMO. But not if he is desperately needed that day. just my 2 cents.

From what I hear... he had a bit of an argument with Curt Schilling, and doesn't like Schilling talking so much, and being the spokesman for the team. That's what I've heard as the reason he wants the trade... but I heard that from some Boston writer on ESPNEWS today, so who knows.

In Theo I trust, unless he trades Manny for Mike Cameron, then bring back Danny Duquette.
