So, what you're saying is, Selig would need to give the de facto approval?
Hello!
LTR posted the de facto re-post
Maybe if you guys would de facto read instead of de facto fight???
 at what I missed.
All signs point to this being done very soon. Take this worth a grain of salt, because David Kaplan is a jackass, but he says the deal is basically done. There should be some sort of leak tomorrow that says the deal is done, with an announcement coming Friday(with Selig's approval).
I've been expecting Theo to come in and be president of baseball operations since I found out that he agreed to come here. He's going to have the final say in what happens here, and he'll bring in his own guy to be the "GM", who will handle day to day moves. I'm actually quite happy that it turned out this way. Theo won't have to answer to anyone, besides Ricketts, which is a different situation than what he was in, in Boston.
I'm pumped and nervous at the same time. Hopefully logic and I are right when I said that no top prospects will be headed to Boston.
We should make this the de facto World Series thread since it received more attention during Game 1 than the actual gameday thread.
I mean, if you want to put it as blindly as that.
The new GM will be doing all of the FA signings, the trading, and the movement in the minor league levels. The things every other GM in baseball does. Theo will just be the one with the final say, which is what every "President of Baseball Operations" does.
Trendy, you dumbass. GM's and Presidents are the exact same thing!!!
