If you don't think Theo won't look to move Garza in this weak pitching market your nuts... maybe not to Boston but the Cubs need a rebuild

Not as compensation and I must be nuts because Garza is the only good pitcher they have!! Call the Mr. Planters if you'd like!!

If they move Garza expect some good prospects from Boston to be headed to Chicago.

Garza won't be a throw-in to "compensate" for Theo.

Right the compensation would be part of the trade... Chicago will still get prospects too

Just maybe less than full value ( so only 2 blue chips instead of 3 etc...)

So, they're trading Garza independent of "compensating" for Theo.

Only way Red Sox get Garza is if they pay at least full price. It likely be called "part of the compensation" but they wouldn't give the Red Sox any sort of deal. Garza is a 27 year old pitcher with cost control. Cubs are willing to listen to offers on anybody. You'd have to look at the Cubs/Rays deal and make a better offer.

I'm just saying what they'd call it... I have no idea on the actual price of it... Theo isn't afraid to blow things up... I wouldn't be surprised of the Cubs entered a 3-year rebuild...

Also none of the prospects the Rays got were sure-fire players... I'm sure a deal of Reddick, Anderson, one of the pitching specs + compensation would be pretty close

    Re: Theo to Chicago Cubs

The sad thing is, unless the Cubs practically give Garza away (won't happen) or the Red Sox drastically overpay (also won't happen) cj will come in and say I told you so downplaying the quality of the prospects from Boston, while everyone else argues it a fair trade.

In other words, if Garza goes to Boston this thread will never die.

Josh Reddick is having wrist surgery and wasn't that good to begin with. Has to be better than Reddick! Same with Anderson.

He's projected as a starting OF... and batted .280 in 250 MLB at-bats... Theo thought he was good enough to have him start in RF down the stretch instead of making a trade... Lars Anderson is the #76 spec overall according to Scoutingbook.com... but hey what do they know
