It is lateral in name and in de facto for San Diego/Hoyer :dunno:
They are both GMs I'm just saying he won't be an inactive president
Is Trendy and CJ about to have the same argument LTR and mofo just got done with? :laugh:
Sounds like it, but it's just a fancier name
It's a fancier name because it's a fancier position.
Hoyer will be the GM handling the day-to-day moves. I'm sure Theo will provide input but Hoyer will be the GM. Theo's there for the final approval.
Call him a "de facto GM" or whatever label you want, nothing will negate the fact that Theo's not going to be the GM.
Anyway,
I'm sorry Trendy, but I seriously hope that so long as Theo is there that the Cubs do not win the World Series.
The last thing I want to see is the sports mediots slobbering over Theo's accomplishments with Boston then Chicago like as though overcoming the mythical "curses" somehow made the job tougher for him than it would have been with other franchises.
It's ok. I don't blame you. It's sad that so many people actually believe there are "curses".
So Chicago media is saying the deal is all but done, pending physicals. Boston media is saying the only thing that's been decided is that it will be two minor league players.
I also just read that Selig is saying it's possible he might have to get involved. Which in the end, could be a good thing for the Cubs.
And Boston guys saying they've agreed to nothing
Selig could pressure Cubs into giving more too... We got no way to know til it's over
Lol marlins set the precedent, as did the rays for pinella... This isn't new
I repeat
Manager =/= General Manager
The Marlins set nothing
