Thumbs Down John Lackey, man of great timing

...he has filed divorce from his wife, while his team is in the middle of a collapse and while she is continuing her battle with breast cancer. What a great guy!

I wish Boston had a crazy player on their team, like Milton Bradley or Carlos Zambrano, that would completely snap when Lackey stared them down after he threw a lousy pitch that was smacked to the next state (as if it is that player's fault he sucks at pitching). Why hasn't Pedroia killed him yet?

Doesn't matter what the details are, if you don't want the media hounding you about it don't file during the season when you are in a pennant chase.

If you have to dump your sick wife and don't want people to think you are a piece of shit then just move out and file when she is at LEAST through with her intitial treatments.

I would not be surprised if he is in such a hurry because whatever skank he has on the side is itching to be the next Mrs. John Lackofdecency and the current wife might not die soon enough to suit her.

What does it matter how his team is performing when this is about his personal life?

This is pretty cold-blooded, but I suppose the LEAST he could leave her with is some honesty, unlike disgraced senator John Edwards who cheated on his cancer-stricken wife and tried to deny having fathered a child with his mistress.
