Buchholtz Done For Year?

Clay Buchholz has a stress fracture in his lower back and is likely done for the 2011 season.
The Red Sox probably now wish they could re-do the trade deadline and pick up some rotation depth beyond left-hander Erik Bedard. Buchholz, who has been sidelined since June 15, is scheduled to get a second opinion from Dr. Thomas Watkins in Los Angeles on Monday. The right-hander won't need surgery, but rest and rehab can take several months.

Big blow to the Red Sox as they were hoping Buchholtz could help down the stretch but doesn't seem likely at this point. The Red Sox are going to pray a pitcher comes to them through the waiver wire but having the best record in the AL, that's about as likely as me fucking Salma Hayek.

ill be perfectly honest, i like bartolo as our game 2 starter more than i do aj. hell, if the playoffs started tomorrow, id take garcia over aj.

I'm sure the Red Sox knew this was coming when they went and got Bedard... this isn't a shock to anyone and the Red Sox don't give up elite prospects for rentals so nothing would have changed

i dont drink beer, only the hard stuff. that said... i like aj but hes too inconsistent, and his homer rates have gotta be huge, at least they seem that way to me. he'll cruise for 5 innings, then give up 2-3 homers in the 6th or 7th (i checked, hes tied for 6th, i just gave myself a thumbs up). and until colon or garcia show that they are washed up, id throw them til their arms fall off. its hard to argue with what theyve done... colons velocity is still mid 90s, though garcia is doing it with smoke and mirrors. i was merely stating what id prefer, of course joe is gonna pitch aj in the 2nd game.
