Left fielder Jason Bay officially will test the open waters of free agency after declining the Boston Red Sox's initial contract offer, according to an SI.com report.

"Nothing will happen by day's end, but we'll keep talking,'' Bay's agent, Joe Urbon, told SI.com.

The offer from the Red Sox to Bay was believed to be in the range of four years and $60 million, unidentified sources told SI.com.
$15 million/yr for four years is more than fair for Jason Bayand don't see him getting much more. The Angels are saying they only have $12 million to improve their club so you can count them out as a potential suitor. I think leaving Boston would be a mistake for Bay. I was surprised to hear him reject this deal.
